Food Security
acquiring food
At The Educational Garden Project, we partner with Feeding America, MANNA Food Bank, and the Asheville Poverty Initiative to rescue in excess of 2,000 pounds of food each week. We distribute this food to dozens of households!
kids at the forefront
We believe that the easiest way to teach children about food security is to have them work with food. Before COVID we brought thousands of pounds of food into classrooms every week and worked with kids to process and eat it!
Moving forward during covid
The Educational Garden Project is currently installing Little Free Pantries at multiple locations around Asheville! We always need more ideas, so please contact us if you would like to collaborate on a food security project.
