Joan Pinegar

Joan Pinegar has been the director of multiple day camps, spent over a decade as Garden Coordinator at Isaac Dickson Elementary School, and led numerous community gardens, all while feeding the Asheville Community with rescued food. Joan is the owner/director of The Educational Garden Project.

Judayah Cray

Judayah Cray is an Appalachian native born and raised in Asheville NC. She is our lead staff member at The Educational Garden Project and has been working with us going on 5 years now! Judayah loves bringing an educational and adventure filled experience to the children of Asheville by teaching valuable information about food security, gardens, and so much more. Judayah is currently in school full time to fulfill her passion in early childhood education and can't wait to gain more knowledge through working with children!

Klari Farzley

Klari Farzley moved to Asheville in 2018 after graduating from Rhodes College with a BA in English Literature. Klari loves is passionate about food rescue, sustainability, and teaching children how to cook and garden! She is our Marketing and Administrative Director.

Wanagi Israel-Luna

Wanagi Israel-Luna was born and raised in Asheville and the surrounding mountains of North Carolina. She has lived and worked on farms her whole life, gaining important skills and knowledge about food security, native plant awareness, and sustainable living. She is passionate about passing down her understanding to little ones in an exciting hands on way!
